Remembering a friend, a brand new video and a dream concert just announced!
Happy Fall Everyone!
It's been awhile since I've been in contact with a lot of you. I have a few exciting concerts to tell you about so please read on!
Here's what's been happening and what's going in my world:
Firstly, I had a wonderful summer touring across Canada with my fabulous group of musicians. I especially want to say how great it was to see so many friends at my sold-out homecoming concert in Regina -- you all made me feel so loved and I'll never forget that night.
Secondly, in August we lost a very dear friend, musician and mentor: Mr. Doug Riley (a.k.a Dr. Music). Over the last few years I had the privilege of working very closely with Doug on and off the stage at various concerts, festivals and recordings. My last CD "I Love Being Here With You" was co-produced by Doug so I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful recorded memory of our time together. His spirit and music will never be forgotten and all my prayers and thoughts are with Jan, Jesse and Ben.
On Sunday November 18th at University of Toronto's Convocation Hall there will be a very special concert "A Celebration in Honor of Doug Riley" commemorating Doug's legacy. As was his supportive and generous nature in life all proceeds for this concert will go towards the Doug Riley Scholarship Fund.

On Friday November 23, 2007 CBC's On Stage Series and the Glenn Gould Studio present: "A Little Respect"- Dione Taylor pays tribute to the Queen of Soul: Aretha Franklin with special guests: David Clayton-Thomas and Sharon Riley & the Faith Chorale.
2007 marks the 40 year anniversary of Aretha Franklin's first landmark recordings with Atlantic Records which produced the classic album "I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You").
This concert will be a retrospective of the music and life of Aretha Franklin from her early days in church, scarcely mentioned early jazz recordings and her rise to fame as an R&B superstar.
Dione and a star-studded group of musicians will trace the life of Aretha Franklin and thus the history of Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Soul and The Blues.

"This concert is a dream come true for me. Aretha Franklin is one of my musical heroes and a true inspiration. She's beautiful, magical and inimitable. I never imagined that one day I would get the opportunity to perform an entire concert dedicated to my hero: but I am!"
Don't miss this concert because it will be phenomenal!
Check out my video for "Little Black Dress". It's a sassy song from my latest CD "I Love Being Here With You" and now has a hot little video to go along with it.
Girls... You know what the little black dress is about!

That's all for now. I look forward to seeing you all very soon!
